Day Tour – Accra City Highlights

Guests will be picked up in the morning by our certified Root Tour guide in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. After breakfast, we will officially begin our tour by exploring the vibrant city of Accra and its iconic landmarks, history, and people.

Independence Square & Black Star Arch will be our first Stop. Start at Ghana’s
National Square, built to commemorate independence from British colonial rule in 195.

The square, which holds significant importance to Ghanaian political independence and the nation’s history. Take in the grandeur of the Black Star Gate and Freedom Arch—symbols of national pride and resilience.

Our next visit will take us to Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park & Mausoleum.
Step into the legacy of Ghana’s first president and leading Pan-Africanist.

The serene park and museum tell the powerful story of Ghana’s independence journey and the vision of unity that shaped a continent.

This museum is dedicated to the life and legacy of one of Africa’s great sons and a pan Africanist who became the first president of Ghana.

The park is surrounded by lush green vegetation of trees planted by the head of state and other dignitaries who have visited the park in the past.

James Town Walking Tour

Venture into one of the oldest districts of Accra. See colonial-era architecture,
lighthouses, murals, boxing gyms, and bustling street life. This historic fishing
community is raw, real, and unforgettable. Bring your camera—it’s photogenic and
full of stories.

We continue our trip to Makola Market – Local Life in Motion. Immerse yourself in the energy of Accra’s most famous open-air market.

Your guide will help you navigate the colourful stalls, textiles, spices, and handmade goods. A perfect spot to experience authentic daily life and shop for souvenirs.

Drumming & Dance Experience at the Arts Centre

Wrap up your day with a guided drumming session from expert Ghanaian percussionists. Learn the basics of traditional rhythms, then move to the beat with a fun dance tutorial.

The group will participate in a traditional drumming and dancing lesson by expert cultural drummers. The group will be guided by playing giant African drums and learn some Ghanaian dance moves.

Lunch Break Included

Enjoy a local or continental lunch at a recommended spot such as Buka Restaurant, Chop
Bar, or Country Kitchen, depending on your preference and location.
