Itineraries
Day 1
Shai Hills, River Adventures & Local Encounters
Your adventure begins as our professional, culturally certified guide welcomes you in an air-conditioned vehicle. After a warm introduction and safety briefing, we set out northeast to begin our journey.
Shai Hills Resource Reserve
Step into a savannah where stories live in the rocks. A light hike takes you through caves once inhabited by the Shai people, alongside wildlife like baboons, zebras, and graceful antelope. Nature here is not just scenery, it’s history you can walk through.
Adomi Bridge – Gateway to the Volta
Our path leads us to the iconic Adomi Bridge, stretching proudly over the mighty Volta River. Its sweeping steel arch offers breathtaking photo opportunities and stands as a symbol of Ghana’s unity and resilience.
Lake Volta Boat Cruise
The day slows down as we sail across one of the world’s largest manmade lakes. A cool breeze, birdsong, and the serene backdrop of Akosombo’s green hills create a moment of calm reflection.
Fishing with the Locals
Step off the boat and into tradition. Cast nets, paddle softly, and learn the ancient rhythms of life on the Volta. This hands-on encounter with local fishers offers more than activity—it offers connection.
Overnight in Akosombo
Relax at Alloa’s Bay Lodge or Atinkpo Adi Lake Lodge, riverside retreats where starlight meets water. Enjoy a local dinner and let the sounds of the river lull you into the night.
Day 2
Monkeys, Kente, Mountains & Hidden Waterfalls
The Volta highlands greet you with culture, craft, and cascading waters.
Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary
In a sacred grove protected for centuries, playful Mona monkeys greet you. Gentle and curious, they may even climb on your shoulder as you feed them, a moment of joy and wonder.
Tafi Abuipe – Kente Weaving Village
Here, tradition is woven by hand. Watch master weavers craft vibrant Kente, each thread carrying history and meaning. This is artistry at its most soulful, passed down through generations.
Mount Gemi Hike
A short but rewarding climb brings you to the peak of Mount Gemi, where vast landscapes stretch endlessly before you. It’s a photographer’s dream, and a reminder of Ghana’s boundless beauty.
Ote Falls & Amedzofe Exploration
Hidden in a quiet forest, Ote Falls is nature’s gentle gift—a refreshing cascade reached through peaceful trails. Nearby, Amedzofe, one of Ghana’s highest settlements, whispers stories of resilience and heritage.
Overnight in Wli
Settle into Wli Water Heights Hotel, where culture comes alive at night. Through storytelling, drumming, and traditional Ewe dance, you’ll not just watch but feel the heartbeat of the Volta.
Day 3
Peaks, Waterfalls & Farewell to Volta
Optional Hike – Mount Afadjato
For those who seek challenge, rise early to conquer Ghana’s highest peak at 885m. The climb is demanding but the views—forests, villages, and the embrace of the horizon—are worth every step.
Wli Waterfalls
The grand finale: West Africa’s tallest waterfall.
Take the gentle path to the Lower Falls, where butterflies guide your way.
Or push further to the Upper Falls, where a rainforest hike rewards you with untamed beauty and rich eco-history.
After lunch in Wli, we begin our return to Accra, carrying memories of nature’s wonders and human warmth.
